While NY & Maine are mostly in the Top 10 with snowfall totals so far this season, you'll be surprised who's in Top 10 departures East of Ohio.

I put this together.

I really just want one week where there aren't weather-related callouts at my job. Is that so much to ask?

lol. I hear ya. I wonder what the school count is too. I think the kids will be in there till July. lol

Also.. notice Bernie mentions Sunday. I'll have to keep an eye on the models for that.

For now, lets enjoy the break. I got a driveway with a sheet of ice still. Roof looking good!

NWSNY max temp forecast for Friday. BDR and Islip normal max is 41°. NYC is 43°.

Even if it is still below normal mid-March, the point is after that "below normal" can still be warm enough for it to be rain and not snow......the average high in mid-March is in the upper 40s approaching 50 (even now the normal highs are around 40)! And often when it does snow after that point, it only sticks to grass and maybe parked cars (yes, I know there have been exceptions, for example I'm old enough to very well remember the blizzard on April 6, 1982 but still)

I know you're being tongue in cheek but an interesting side note that does make this become a problem for schools is that both CT and NY have state laws that say school can't go past June 30. That's why eventually they cut into "April break". I don't think they're allowed to have weekend school days as makeups as some districts in NJ and in the South are doing either......

And didn't the groundhog said we were going to have an early Spring this year? I swear that was the consensus. If so, WHAT A LIAR!

We had some serious freezing rain yesterday and last night. This morning may have been the iciest I have ever experienced in CT. Every road was atrocious, primary state roads being the worst, save for Route 2. I didn't noticed any sand or salt down, just sheer ice almost everywhere along Rt. 94 in Glastonbury. Town roads were crusty with ice but at least sanded enough where you could get traction. Rt. 94 looked clear but was a sheet of ice up until Glastonbury center. Honestly, I am surprised there aren't more wrecks out there this morning. Hopefully everyone is reducing speeds and getting where they need to be safely!
