Should be snowing in Western CT by 8am or so, rest of state by 10am. Maybe some school delays?

Though if I'm reading NWS's forecast updates right, at least on the coast, it looks like tomorrow starts wetter overnight and then gets snowier during the day (and they finally issued something, a Winter Weather Advisory for everyone......I keep thinking I'll wake up and it will suddenly be Winter Storm Warnings ). It also looks like (again at least on the coast) mostly rain now for Wednesday, but starting out Tuesday night and Wed. morning as snow, sleet and freezing rain and that could be interesting.....

I'm not sure if this is your rationale, but I keep having this bad feeling that it will still be rain at 5am and the schools will be tempted to go the early dismissal route......but maybe it will be more like they'll close based on how soon it will start to snow....

Cam, I am confused......6-10" where? TWS and Acuuweather are still showing this below:

Snow, mixed with rain at times from late Tuesday night into Wednesday afternoon will total 1-3 inches.

Wednesday : Snow mixing with rain, accumulating an inch or two; storm total snowfall 1-3 inches

Read the question I was answering to. And that 1-3" Wednesday is way low. Looks like 2-6" is your range. 6" is my low end range.

Actually not snowing until 8-10am would produce the reverse, early dismissals, not delays. But that scenario sometimes produces where they close knowing it will be really bad by "early dismissal time".

I can see the 6-10" for somewhere like Litchfield County on Wednesday, but are you sure 6" by you? NWS seems to be trending towards "snow/sleet Tuesday night turning to plain rain Wednesday morning" for south of the Merritt.......the NYC forecast says rain by 8am, the CT coast says by 11am. I realize this could completely change once again and be a 6-12" storm, but just sayin......

Yes that seems to be latest trend for Wednesday for now...at least.
