May have been easy to clear but a good 8-10" total here. Side roads are a mess still with slush and packed snow, main roads seem fine. Still shocked my work didn't at least have an hour delay so I could get the driveway clear and safely drive into work.

I'm amazed at how many schools did delays vs. closures. I don't know about CT, but at least where I live in southern Westchester, most of the streets are still fairly snow covered and people are going to be taking awhile to clean their cars and get out.

By the way... At Bridgeport (BDR) snow totals

Last 5 winters(2009-10 to 2013-14): 201 inches

1980s(1979-80 to 1988-89): 179 inches
1950s (1949-50 to 1958-59): 212 inches

So we're 11 inches away from beating the 1950s too.
And we're not even done with the 5th winter let alone this decade!

The coast has been snowy for sure recently

Oh man, we will OBLITERATE the 50's for sure. Most likely even get into the 300's by end of the 2018 - 2019 season.

Next one to beat after 1950s is the 1970s with 267". And that is interesting because as a kid in the 70s I always remember big snowfalls and lots of snow days. This decade is reminding me of then now. The kids today are going to remember it.

12:30pm Temps and Satellite. High cold thin clouds over us. I think BDL is warmer than the south because of snow cover? Not sure.

Wind Chills are near or sub zero pretty much everywhere down to Baltimore except Nantucket.

Ironically, only the last third of the 70s had really big snowfalls (which since I think you once told me you're a little younger than me is what you're remembering), the two really big ones are the Jan and Feb blizzards of 1978, but then Feb. 1979 had a big snowfall and Jan 1977 was a really really cold month with some snow (most of this I'm quoting from knowing the history, I mostly remember the 2 1978 ones though, I was in 5th grade).

There was a big Easter Day blizzard in March of 1970 (memorable in my family because my sister was born a few days earlier and her and mom were coming home from the hospital that day) but after that, no major 70s snows until 1977. In fact, the LEAST snowiest year in Central Park was 1972-73, with just 2.8" all winter and no measurable until Jan. 29, another record (no I don't remember that, I was only 5, what I do remember was not really having big snowfalls and lots of snow days until later in elementary school which would be the 1977-79 period.

BTW, my kids are 12 and 10 and (especially my 12 year old son, who's as much into the weather than me) is really remembering these storms in recent years, so you're on target Cam!

weather.com claims New Britain (06052) picked up 10 inches of snow. No way! I shoveled outside for 2.5 hours this morning. There was no more than 5 inches in any one spot. Also, as I type this, it's a balmy 14 F/-10 C. We may get another degree or two tacked onto that if we're lucky, before the sun sets at 4:54 PM. I think we stay above zero in New Britain tonight since 1-the new snow pack isn't exactly 18 to 24 inches deep and 2-the breeze tonight will help keep the air temps up slightly.

It hit -1 in Trumbull this morning. Supposed to be slightly colder tonight. Got the faucets dripping and a space heater going in my master bathroom with pipes in the external wall.

I was born in 1972. Lived on Long Island until the early 80's when parents picked the family up and moved to Southern California (kinda wish I was there right now). I remember lots of snow in the 70's. Of course, anything is going to look like a lot to a 5 year old.
