Ha that probably was my comment ha. If we could give Fairfield, Darien, New Cannan, Stamford, Ridgefield, Westport, and Greenwich to NY for $112 Billion dollars be cool in my books. CT keeps Norwalk and Bridgeport. CT will split half the cost to build a bridge from New Haven to Long Island.

Or just return to old lines...take Long Island and Albany back fro. Where Norwalk is to Rye give to New Haven. Make New Haven it's own independent state and give the top half of CT back to Mass ha.

And in the interest of balance, here's an article regrading the stellar job growth in this state. So much for being open for business.

To be honest I am surprised that some affluent communities like my town, Glastonbury, were not cut further. It is not that I want higher taxes but I understand that the wealthier communities can better afford the cuts than the bottom 30 towns and cities identified as having no cuts. Of course my opinion could change when DW starts screaming about how much our taxes are going next year. Will be interesting to see what happens. Jay

I don't believe all of these towns cuts are going to hold up. And even if they do, we're talking about 1-3m, which really comes down to $75 per household in taxes every year. And that's if each district doesn't make any additional cuts now that they know the state isn't pitching in.

What it is doing is showing even the "rich" towns get quite a bit of state funding. Kind of makes ragging on Hartford, Waterbury, et al. for "being too irresponsible to fund their own systems"a bit hallow. That's really it.
