Positive news coming out of Hartford. back9network has been picked up by directV. Maybe this will be a revolution of sorts to bring in media to Downtown Hartford.

Back9Network Signs Deal With DirectTV, Set To Open Studio | Dan Haar

With all this good news coming from Hartford it might be time to dust off the ole' classifieds and start thinking about buying some distressed property and get some rental income.

**see it isn't all bad news.

Sorry Armyvet1, I just was watching MSNBC this morning, and they said
it is still Bush's fault.

Keep the good news coming! The State will give $6M (forgivable if they create 200 jobs and retain 150 in 5 years) to Vineyard Vines Clothing Company. The kicker...they are moving from Stamford to ::drum roll:: STAMFORD! Same town=$6M.
The article didn't even say why we (taxpayers) gave them the money. All it said was they looked at offices in NYC and Stamford and signed a lease in Stamford. So..assumption is that they already decided they were staying in CT so we gave them $6m anyway. SMH

Other kicker is that between forgivable loans and tax credits CT will give them over them over 41% of their last years revenue ($8m + $6m = $14m/$34m = 41%).

Also I like Malloys little speak about not being corporate. Isn't taking this money a little like corporate welfare?! SMH
