Yes the facts were ignored. Read the report I linked. It is an unbiased analysis of Florida’s economy and it specifically reports where the growth in state income occurred and it was not from industries that transferred jobs from out of state. These are facts. So who is ignoring facts to fit a certain perspective? Jay

Keep in mind that many recent Cuban immigrants settled in Florida. Since 1980 the population of Cuban immigrants has grown by nearly 3/4 of a million people and 78% have settled in Florida. A similar situation has occurred with immigrants from other Caribbean, Central and South American countries. The large number of immigrants have been important components of Florida's economic structure and have contributed heavily to Florida's growth. This situation is largely unique to Florida due to strong cultural ties and opportunities for immediate employment in service and tourism industries where support systems are available to deal with language difficulties encountered by recent arrivals. Cuban immigrants are a protected group and eligible for fast-track to citizenship.

Connecticut does not have the same opportunities for the immigrant populations arriving here. They must follow traditional paths to citizenship for the most part with the exception of workers granted work visas in certain specialized areas of employment.

Data out within the past week shows that US birthrates are declining. Immigration has been an important historical component of the success of our nation. A comprehensive immigration policy is essential for our country's future and most importantly for the growth of northern states like Connecticut.

Thanks for the update, a great boost to the workforce in this great State of ours.
Personally, I would prefer 4-5 new subs and put the other $10bill towards infrastructure and the homeless crisis but we'll take it. Kudos to CT.

Amazing isn't he ? After years of Obama the Democratic President cutting the military , the POTUS that Blumenthal wants to impeach has the Navy helping CT out economically.

And it is all thanks to Blumenthal ! All of it !
