If you do a google search, there are multiple studies showing CT’s buying power is far less than in other states. Would I want to live in some of those other states? No way. But it is what it is.

Ct needs to become pro business, or get used to GEEXITS.

With or without anyone's consent, we must be competitive with all 50 states plus every developed nation globally.

I am proudly Pro Business. Businesses provide jobs = our way of life.

IMO the solution to generational poverty can't be found in service sector McJobs.

CT could be in an ideal position to advance the middle class with manufacturing/skilled trades, farming, and other industries that require some brainpower and pride in your knowledge. Unfortunately, we aren't there and our state's economic policies are hindering, not helping.

We must address our horrible state business ranking first.

I can't argue with that. As I have said here before, we are in competition with Massachusetts and New York for employers. We need to be cheaper than they are in order to be considered for relocations or expansion. That said we also cannot just let companies run gunshot over our state. We need to preserve what makes Connecticut special. That includes high quality education. We cannot compete with areas that are very low cost or that allow anything for new development. We will never win in that contest and I am not sure we would want to. It is all about balance and that is very tricky. Jay

Yes, because American business has shown that they want to clean up the mess they made during the 100+ years of the Industrial Revolution.

Few, if any, polluted industrial sites (pretty much every industrial site is polluted) are developed without significant public money. Many of the companies that made the mess just disappeared because they weren't willing to step up and fix what they broke. Most new manufacturing sites today are built on raw land rather than reused industrial sites. That is why places like Florida, Texas, Nevada or North Carolina are booming. They have the raw land and are willing to let companies build whatever they want. We just can't compete with that. Nor should we. Jay

We compete with 49 states. Businesses do not discriminate. They choose the best deal nationally.

Could CT become the home to two other fortune 100 companies? UTC is splitting up into 3 businesses, UTC, Carrier and Otis. This has the potential to be a great thing for CT.
