I used to swear by Vinny's pizza. I haven't been there in years though because the quality became wildly inconsistent. The crust started getting thicker, and the sauce was often bitter. If you do go, i'd suggest not doing so at night as i've noticed drug dealing in that area.

Salerno's is another one that is pretty inconsistent as well. I've never had a bad pizza from them, but it is hit/miss and even at their best, they aren't fantastic.

Paradise makes a good Greek pizza. The rest of their menu is OK. Don't order the veal though. Acropolis in Stratford seems to be about equal to Paradise, IMHO.

My favorite for Greek pizza in the general area is the Captain's on Main Street in Bridgeport. Other Captain's locations have left me dissatisfied, but not Main Street. It's always good.

Edit to add: The Vazzy's on Broadbridge at the Bridgeport/Stratford line really, REALLY went downhill. I can no longer recommend them.

Really? I like their pizza quite a bit. What don't you like about it?

They also give little chunks of pizza dough for kids to play with.
I like Bertucci's. It's really good for a chain.

Maybe i've just been getting it at the wrong time of the day(2:30-5:00)? I've been very disappointed overall compared to the Pepe's in New Haven and Uncasville.

I've heard Fairfield isn't as good as New Haven.

Was the crust not crispy enough?

I've had it both ways at Fairfield. Really good sometimes, but sometimes too thick/doughy.

Always too thick for me at Fairfield. And typically skimpy(er) on toppings. And not charred enough as well.

I could go on. I'll stop. LOL.

Yeah they undercook/over-dough there more often than New Haven. Happened to me a few times at Danbury too. New Haven has always been consistent for me.

Often, whenever I order pizza from anywhere, I ask them to use the medium size dough ball and stretch it to the large size pie. Works almost every time.
