Prime 16 is the obvious next step after those 2.
There's nothing wrong with the Orange location, but I would go to New Haven first to get the original experience.

The last time I was there was mid afternoon some random Sunday this summer -- After the normal lunch crowd, but before early dinner time. No wait at all, which was nice. Weather was also crappy, so that probably cut down on the biker crowd, which for some reason seems to flock there, probably because the food is great. The time before was a Saturday night, and we waited a while to be seated. Thankfully they have a decent bar to pass the wait time. I hope you get to try it some time. Prime 16 is about 3 large city blocks from YNH.

Yale Art Gallery and the British Art Museum are both nearby and free and two other excellent ways to kill an hour. The newly expanded and renovated art gallery is amazing.
