Agreed. This year seems to give us a handful of top 10 upsets each week and several of the top 15 still play each other. It's still fun to guess each week.

Could Sparty play for the title? Northwestern has literally played nobody. If Sparty can get by at Iowa, I think it sets up nice for them. Oklahoma/Sparty?? (The ESPN "brainiacs" seem to think it's an upset special.)

Word is that Massey screwed up on his rankings. Not sure what effect this has on the overall BCS, and he hasn't confirmed as of yet.

People that watch the computer rankings followed Massey's scores when they were released Sunday/Monday, then noticed each score was changed (and reflected on his website) on Wednesday. Supposedly the BCS numbers were not changed to reflect this.

Again, I'm not sure of the implication or intention, if any.

Here are the BCS rankings:

NCAA College Football BCS Standings Week 8 - ESPN

The Massey ranking (KM) are as follows:

1. Oklahoma - 1
2. Oregon - 8
3. Boise State - 7
4. Auburn - 5
5. TCU - 6
6. LSU - 4
7. Michigan State - 3
8. Alabama - 16
9. Utah - 11
10. Ohio State -14

These are not the numbers reflected for this week on his own site:

Massey Ratings - CF

The numbers are as follows:

1. Oklahoma - 5
2. Oregon - 1
3. Boise State - 3
4. Auburn - 8
5. TCU - 2
6. LSU - 7
7. Michigan State - 12
8. Alabama - 6
9. Utah - 9
10. Ohio State - 13

(Stanford - 5)
(Missouri - 10)

Gotta disagree with your last sentence.

Great teams find a way to win every game whether it's by 1 point or 35 points.

I doubt a Michigan coach would lose his job if he beat Ohio State every year by 1 point.

I doubt an Auburn coach would lose his job cuz he only beat Alabama by 1 point every year in the Iron Bowl.

The dumbest phrase in sports is-------" but they almost lost "
It usually is used by a fan of a team who has many losses but proclaims-----" they almost won every game "

--almost.. is a word that should be banned from sports.
You either do it ( win) or you don't/can't.

Disagree with this and agree with what the other guy said. Great teams beat other teams soundly (especially if they are bad teams).

You think it would be okay for a Michigan coach to only beat Sam Houston State by 1 point?

You think it would be okay for an Auburn coach to only beat UTEP by 1 point?

Nope, those almost losses really do reveal how good a team is...

I'm sorry. No offense to my own conference, but OU has no business in the number one spot. Unless everyone else really does suck that badly.

A major conference team that--almost loses-- every game will be still playing in the BCS Championship.

If they--almost lose-- that game also they will be called National Champs.
