While Briles is clearly a better coach than Brown, he isn't very popular with the Texas fans because he voted Texas #9 in the polls after our 1 point last second loss to Tech. That was just enough for the tiebreaking points to put OU in the B12 CCG, even though the Horns had beaten the Sooners handily.

Deloss Dodds is stepping down tomorrow. That's a major step there. In fact, Mack is 99.99% done with that news and if he loses to OU again, it's 100%. Although my opinion.

If Dodds is not there next year its almost a guarantee that Mack will be gone as well. A new AD is going to want to bring in his own guy.

Actually, the Texas AD does not bring in his "own guy". The "big cigars" (UT movers & shakers) hire the head football coach.

It's a myth that DD hired Brown - he did not.
