Longhorns dominate the Red Raiders on over 400 yards of rushing and 2 completions through the air in the first half... Texas 52, Texas Tech 20. The Longhorns, at 6-2, are now bowl eligible after missing out for the first time since 1997 last year.
LSU is my number one team. unfortunatly whoever is playing Texas has become my number two team.
You dont like Texas, so why waste your time coming in this thread??
Go talk your talk in the LSU thread or SEC thread.

This was another good step for the Horns. However, I'm worried/curious about Ash's ability to throw and his decision making. I didnt get to see the game, but if anyone who did view it beginning to end can tell me, the passed he attempted, where they money??
What I do know from this game is that O-line has been working hard, we may have a two headed monster in the backfield, and finally Jeffcoat looks to be progressing as a good DE.
Now only if we could have Arron Ross or Dave Thomas back in the secondary.

FastFerrari, for an indication of Ash's performance, I'd recommend you read Golden's commentary at the Statesman
The second key pass for Ash came in the second quarter, when he hit Mike Davis with a 48-yard pass on a fly pattern.

...his 4-for-7, 125-yard performance didn't tell the full story. Actually, it was the way he took care of his position.

He's growing up before our very eyes.
This broadcast was on FX and was a real treat. The call players seemed more dedicated to commenting on the game and good play rather than on their own personality development. Made me wonder why UT signed with ESPN rather than Fox Sports. I hope they'll be calling the Missouri game as well.
This was the best ball I've seen Texas play in a decade or two, even though many will attribute it to the Jekyll/Hyde team from Tech. And I lost count of the number of times those announcers pointed out the number of freshman playing for Texas.
And all this without a McCoy or Shipley on the field. (McCoy did play some in the fourth quarter, Shipley was sidelined for the game).

Bottom line, Ash managed the game very well. However, Cedric Golden's column is a little premature and pretty off the mark... but, he's a sportswriter for the statesman, so we shouldn't expect much.
My take -- Ash did excellent in managing the mostly-running game offense. He showed his great arm in a couple of long pass attempts, one that was completed. He also showed his running capabilities in what was briefly the Horn's longest running play this season. But considering the Tech defense was completely incapable of stopping anything, and the fact Ash only had to throw a couple of times (our top receiver had 2 catches; the first have had 2 passes completed total by us), the jury is still out IMO. When we face a team that can actually stop the run, it will be a much more appropriate time to evaluate him. But his play this week certainly cements another start in the next game, I wouldn't suggest otherwise at this point.

Considering our top RB was out, it's more like the 3-4 headed monster backfield. And the wildcat is proving very effective against Big-12 level defenses (basically, not so good ones). I think the running game will work again vs. Mizzou, although Kansas state will be much scrappier on run D.
Did you watch the game on TV? FX does a great job. I like FX. They are doing a fine job with their sports broadcasting. Those "cookin' channels" must be like the lhn, only broadcast in the state of texas. I never see them in Green Country. Noodlin' shows on the other hand... smh.

American Horror Story is some ****ed up ****. I like it.
