I am beginning to collect vintage/antique furniture - I only have a few pieces so far... items that appeal to me, not a specific age, design or manufacturer.
I collect My Little Ponies! I also (to a much lesser extent) collect shot glasses. But my shot glass collection is more of a reflection of my, and my friends and family's, travels. Go to Sea World, buy a shot glass, go to San Diego, buy a shot glass, etc.
My youngest daughter collects glass and pottery animals ( American made ).
She loves to collect Fenton & Imperial Glass animals and animals made by McCoy Pottery, Shawnee Pottery etc.
My oldest collects piggy banks. She once purchased a pottery pig bank at an auction were at for 5.00 and pulled the cork out of the pig and found 2 - 100.00 bills inside.
Me and the DH collects sand and shells from every beach we have ever visited and that is a lot of them. We put them in glass jars and you wont believe the difference in the color and texture of the sands from Maine to Florida.
I collect anything involving lighthouses. I also collect mugs and cobalt glass. I've recently gotten into collecting tins and wooden boxes (not big ones...just unique wooden boxes for jewelry or cigars, etc.)
I keep all of my Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars in a large container under my bed. There's hundreds of them and I don't think I could ever get rid of them, despite the fact I really don't use them anymore.
