I live about an hour and a half away from Wilmington and love going there. They have so much to offer. As far a living goes a former client of mine suggested living in Hampstead over Wilmington. It is cheaper and a bit quieter and only a short drive into Wilmington.

If Wilmington is good enough for Dawson, it's good enough for me

The more suburban areas of Wilmington are ok, but downtown is really rundown despite all the failed attempts at sprucing it up like the convention center and the new marina. Every time you go downtown to a restaurant you have to deal with all the beggars. Last time there was a homeless guy saying he would sing for money who had a large hole in his pants exposing his genitals. No thanks.

I think all those homeless beggars are the City-Data posters who ignored the advice they were given here and moved to Wilmington without first getting jobs.

Thats an almost impossible question to answer with any degree of accuracy based on your criteria, but I'll say yes. Obviously, there are many variables that aren't being addressed.
