Heinens, Marcs, Giant Eagle is what I am referring to. What a let down, they all think. Such inferior to places like Food Lion and Kroger which are in other cities. Those are awesome grocery stores. Too bad CLE does not have them.
Yeah, never understood why Kroger never made it up here, they're based in Cinci. Speaking of which, we need a Jungle Jims. Now that's a grocery store. Ever been?

Heinen's is an "inferior" grocery store? This post has no credibility.

Agree, I think Heinen's is cut above the rest. Fruit, home made bread, all very good. Love their pre-made stuff, particularly at the downtown store.

Kroger was "up here" when I was a kid (1960s-70s). At some point (I can't remember when) they pulled out of the Cleveland area.

Same here in Mentor. Kroger was connected to Great Lakes Mall in the 60's (correct me if I'm mistaken) and then they left. When I got here in '79 they were definitely gone.

That NEO blog was almost assured that SW was going to build on Pub Square...it had no clue about them announcing that they are also looking at leaving the area...it's also stated time and time again that Nucleus is about to start...yet nothing...not sure I trust the sources of that blog by one person.

That said, something needs to get done on the lake front and soon. It's been 20 years since the stadium was built with nothing around it.

Marcs is equivalent to the low cost Food Lion.

Kroger is not nearly as good as Heinens and Giant Eagle...The only grocery chain from the south that I'd like if it was here is Publix.

Looking better and better for Cleveland, especially Downtown Cleveland regarding Sherwin Williams new HQ...and sounding more like a series of mid-rises instead of a super tall, to build an urban campus.

Shaping up Sherwin-Williams new HQ, R&D facilities
WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 25, 2019

CEO John Morikis has been a SHW employee since he got his master's degree from National Louis University in Chicago. He studied business and psychology. He worked his way up through SHW's ranks since 1984. He has embraced his company's conservative, non-pretentious approach. And he is well aware of the company's deep Cleveland roots.

Armed with an understanding of psychology, business and what employees at multiple strata experience, he is now tasked with coming up with new HQ+R&D facilities that affect everything from the employees' mood, to their sense of belonging, to their innovation and to their productivity.

For those reasons, Morikis doesn't seem interested in setting a new height record for a downtown Cleveland skyscraper or building anything iconic merely for the sake of bragging rights, according to those working around him on this project.

In fact, when SHW first started working with century-old law firm Kohrman Jackson & Krantz on drawing up the RFQ one year ago, it initially assumed that the tallest building in the HQ complex would be a 40-story skyscraper.

Honestly I think this is preferable. I like human-sized developments.

fwiw Key Tower is no longer the tallest building between NYC and Chicago; the Comcast Technology Tower in Philly currently holds that ''title'' (1,121').
