I agree. It looks like they've actually asked people "what is wrong with this airport and how can we fix it?". IMagine that. Actually getting input from your customers.

So, could anyone update me on any projects that are currently going on in the downtown and surrounding areas that will draw more people down into the area? I know the aquarium is being built, but is there anything else? I'd love to know.

Thanks!

P.S. - Could anyone explain to me what exactly a Medical Mart is? I've heard that was going up as well but I'm confused on what it is exactly.

The casinos, one of the hotels is turning into a Westin, the convention center to be built with the Medical Mart, I heard they were building a skatepark in the Flats, a new Playhouse Square restaurant, that's all off the top of my head, I think there is a list made up of all the projects going on floating around. And as far as I know a Medical Mart is just a place where companies showcase medical technology to other companies looking to buy.

Costello has a great list and knows everything.

What I can think of is the mixed use Flats East Bank project over by the Warehouse District, a few new restaurants and clothing retail on East Fourth, the Casino (as well as the welcome center aka parking garage), a new Coast Guard center down by Voinovich Park on the lakefront, Perk Park renovations, Playhouse Square new streetscaping, restaurants, and renovations of theatres, CSU is practically building a new campus, and the new Inner Belt Bridge is underconstruction. I-90/I-77 through downtown is a pure bi*** with all the new routes because of this. A new Medical Mart and new convention center are underconstruction. In the coming weeks, a $64 million dollar renovation of a hotel by the Galleria is expected to start, and not only is Cleveland getting a new highrise in the Flats, but the Federal Building on East 9th is getting a new $121 million facade change started early next year.

And for the rest of Cleveland, here are my most recent updates. As usual, please let me know if I'm missing anything. I've updated the "Recently Completed" section this time in order by year.

Side note: Although I listed the Downtown Cleveland construction above, more construction is actually happening in the University Circle neighborhood: https://www.city-data.com/forum/cleve...booming-8.html Although it doesn't show up in the investment #'s, Ohio City is the other neighborhood completely transforming itself.
