Hi, I live in a Thunderbird down by the River. I'm having a small party this weekend, want to come over?

Scene Magazine and The Plain Dealer are also in HOT PURSUIT of this breaking development.

Let's see if any of this actually gets off the ground. I'm still looking for nuCLEus and the Weston CityMark superblock to begin rising ...

It is indeed.

This branding is a joke. It's embarrassing that this has any momentum at all.

Ugh.

Also a symbol in Native American culture which may be what they're going for but why??

I tend to like the name, it's definitely not what you'd expect, but Cleveland is gaining notoriety as a quirky city and the shoe fits with naming a neighborhood "Thunderbird". Ever have to explain to out-of-towners that when going to Ohio City, University Circle or West Park that you'll still be in Cleveland proper? I think people would have no doubt knowing Thunderbird is distinctly Cleveland.

So when people wonder about such a strange name for a neighborhood, Clevlelanders will smile and beam with pride: "It was determined on a committee of real estate developers back in 2018."

There is nothing unique or genuine about this proposed neighborhood. I'm sorry if I offend anyone, but I just don't see any reason to like it.

I'm just happy to see something built on what has been basically a big dump my whole life.

I showed the plans to my friend in Seattle and he wishes he could live there. 🤷🏻*♀️

I'm thrilled at the possibility of high-density, high-quality urban development on what, now, is wasteland. On a less important tip, I think both the name Thunderbird and symbol are stupid. The former evokes the cheap wine of winos and drunks and the latter evokes images of the Third Reich. Terrible on both counts. Simply "The Peninsula" would be preferable.

I'm not sure it will be very dense or urban. Looks like another Battery Park to me. Rather bland. I'm not saying that we need perfection, but if Cleveland is going to rebound and appeal to newcomers, it will have to do better. Such sterile developments exist everywhere now. But at least the sterile developments on the coasts also have effective public transit to take them all over the place. In Cleveland, I think it is just bringing more cars and suburban style life to the city.

Just my thoughts on it, I don't mean to be too strident. Just want to see Cleveland thrive. Good point about the Nazis though haha!
