I agree with Averysgore, The skylift will block lakeside views as the cables criss-cross throughout the lake front. I think it would be an eyesore. I also agree that it would be too much, when we already have a rail line serving the area via the Waterfront line. Now with that said, I like the idea of a cable system that would link up the beaches on the near westside to the Flats and possibly the Scranton Peninsula.

Any news on this lakefront plan?

http://media.cleveland.com/pdextra/o...FINAL_1109.pdf

It was approved last year and...now what? I know it's supposedly going to take decades to get all this done (sadness...)but have they started working on any majors parts of it?

I think the new marina and pedestrian bridge are underway, financed by the city.

I guess the "they" hasn't been decided yet.

Apparently they've taken the first step of the first step...

Five teams, from local developers to national players, express interest in Cleveland lakefront sites | cleveland.com

I knew this would be a long, grueling process. Frankly, I wouldn't want it any other way. The city needs to be careful that our biggest asset is utilized to it's greatest potential. Rome wasn't built in a day!
