I lived in Atlanta and currently live in SF. Atlanta is definitely better for most shopping compared to SF!

2nd Largest Nordstrom-atcually it was the Largest until Seattle' Downtown Nordstrom was renovated. The grand opening of DT SFs Nordstrom remains the most profitable opening day of any Nordstrom location.

Bloomingdale's(West Coast Flagship) is the 2nd largest store in the entire chain after their NYC Flagship.

Neiman Marcus' Rotunda is gorgeous.

I love Neiman Marcus during the holidays, especially when they errect their huge Christmas Tree in the middle of the store.

also don't forget Barney's right across from Macy's Men's Store.

I heart Barney's. LOL

I wish I were in town to attend Chanel's grand reopening tomorrow. I went to Gucci's flagship reopening last year. It was awesome. Barcelino opened up their flagship at Embarcadero 4(how dreary) and I always liked that store too.

I know I've sworn off being the social scene, but sometimes its fun.

Wow, I live in DC and that list is definitely suspect. DC tops in the nation for shopping? I'm not sure where you're getting your information.

I could go with that with no issues as far as major cities go, numbers could change depending on what you were looking for but that is a solid top 5.
