Downtown San Francisco has some very significant department stores.
Macy's Union Square(Flagship of Macy's West) is the 3rd Largest Dept Store in the US behind Macy's Herald Square in NYC and Macy's State Street in Chicago. It occupies several adjacent buildings.
2nd Largest Nordstrom-atcually it was the Largest until Seattle' Downtown Nordstrom was renovated. The grand opening of DT SFs Nordstrom remains the most profitable opening day of any Nordstrom location.
Bloomingdale's(West Coast Flagship) is the 2nd largest store in the entire chain after their NYC Flagship. Market Street Facade
Mission Street Facade
Neiman Marcus-Largest NM Location.
Neiman Marcus' Rotunda is gorgeous.
Saks Fifth Avenue(West Coast Flagship)
I love Neiman Marcus during the holidays, especially when they errect their huge Christmas Tree in the middle of the store.
also don't forget Barney's right across from Macy's Men's Store.

I wish I were in town to attend Chanel's grand reopening tomorrow. I went to Gucci's flagship reopening last year. It was awesome. Barcelino opened up their flagship at Embarcadero 4(how dreary) and I always liked that store too.
I know I've sworn off being the social scene, but sometimes its fun.
