So you're saying I have to actually visit one of the Great Lakes to know that they're not oceans? Sorry, but I learned that in elementary school.

They're also not ponds. It's not like you can see the other side.. LOL!

Not everywhere in the South has access to the ocean, Kentucky, Tennessee, Arkansas are the ones that come to mind

That's funny - the whole eastern border of Wisconsin is Lake Michigan. Not exactly landlocked.

You know, I have given up trying to help people realize just how big 97,000 square miles of water really is (Lake Michigan is 22,300 square miles all by itself). Leave them be with their stinky ocean and kelp, and we'll enjoy crystal clear fresh water while they poo-poo how they have "real coasts". Not like 99% of those who live on the ocean have ever been more than a couple miles out anyway (if at all). I've lived both on the Atlantic coast and on the Great Lakes. Give me the lakes any day of the week. Same with my wife who was born and raised on the ocean. Bah, who gives a rats arse if they don't get it; leaves us with lower property costs and not as many people crowding in like the other Coasts have.

I never said they were ponds, and I realize they are vast lakes. But they aren't oceans. Anyway, my whole point was that the Midwest as a region is virtually landlocked (and I'm using "landlocked" here specifically in reference to the absence of oceans).

Y'all can have it--especially in Michigan of all places. I'll take the real deal, thanks.
