MY favorite saying about Florida is:

"The farther North you go, the more Southern it gets"

Tallahassee is the capital is in an area of the state that is more conservative.

The power seems to be in the more concentrated in the North although the actual population density favors the Southern part of Florida.

Tampa is fairly conservative for a large city.
Tampa is actually more of a liberal city, if we are going by election voting records.

Northern Florida along the Georgia and Alabama line is rather southern, I'll give you that. And so are parts of central Florida. However, where is 75% of the state's population located at? Along the coasts. Most coastal towns and cities are not all that conservative and are not southern in culture at all.

Im basing my opinion on some of the conservative legislation that has come out of Florida over the years.
Especially anti gay laws.

The panhandle and Jacksonville are 123% southern and are on the coast. South Florida felt southern through and through to me.

After growing up in GA, and now living in Columbus for almost 3 years. Give me down south. People here are soooo rude. We're looking to move back in 1.5-2 years. I'll deal with the awful heat & humidity for my kids to grow up around nice people! (we are looking at upstate SC, so maybe, just maybe, it won't be as hot as GA

You mean South Florida around Miami, Homestead, and such? That's a shocker.

Looking forward to those pix of your Memphis, Louisville, and Little Rock oceanfront views... I've heard that Dallas boardwalk is AMAZING!
