I tried to do a Coach only store location seach with a 30 mile radius using the zip code of Manhattan where I grew up. It kept crashing. Too many? However, even that is only one designer store and I could not search more than 30 miles. The NYC Metro area goes beyond 30 miles and that wouldn't include many areas of Long Island alone.
Anyway, you cannot say just a particular store. HOW MANY stores of each high end designer is a more accurate account.
Okay. So randomly, off the top of my head...Roberto Cavalli, Versace, and Valentino all have locations in suburban NYC?
Why would three stores be representative of overall shopping? You obviously just looked online for three stores that don't have a suburban NYC location.
Roberto Cavailli is only in five U.S. metros, and all of its locations are suburban except for Manhattan.
The biggest Versace in the world is in Manhattan. There are only Versaces in seven U.S. metros, again all in suburbs except for NYC.
Valentino is only in eight U.S. metros, and all locations are in the burbs except for NYC and Boston.
Even the wealthier fashion conscious people from other states who enjoy the whole in store shopping experience more than likely will favor coming to NYC over other regions... people who really know absolutely nothing about the industry can open the pages of any fashion related magazine and see the dominant NYC representations within the advertizements...You can't get past the fact that NYC is the US fashion/shopping capital of the US if you have a pulse.Got to give credit where credit is due. I don't even see this as really debatable myself.

I wouldn't know because I don't wear that but they carry that stuff at Neiman Marcus.
