I voted Boston, but its really all of New England. Reason the entire region goes crazy for sports in New England. Its the Red Sox, Patriots, Bruins, Celtics and Dunkin Donuts seems part of the sports frenzy in New England with a stadium with their name on it.

Phoenix should be a contender in this as it has all major sports teams. New newest and some of the finest Areanas stadiums and parks. IT has the cactus league base ball allowing people from evrywhere to see their favorite players and teams.

Cardinals OK I know I know never been anything great!
D-Backs up and down in the Seasons but still for the most part a good team.
Coyotes inconsistant but from time to time have shown good playing
Suns allways a contender but yet to grab a title.

Any way a local sports fan sticking to their city.

Boston, followed closely by NYC and Chicago. I don't think any other city comes close.

Last nights banner raising at the Garden.

Absolutely not. Just because PHX has the sports and stadiums doesnt make it a good sports city. The fact that ANY PHX game you go to will have 1/2 the stadium wearing the opposing team's jersey is testament to that fact. Most people in AZ dont support local teams. The stadiums are HIDEOUS and PHX is also known to house one of the biggest bandwagon-fan population in the states. Just those 2 reasons alone are enough reason for most people to rank PHX at the bottom of the pile when it comes to being a "sports city".

What he said.

I'm also surprised Detroit only got 3 nods. The Pistons and Red Wings are two of the nations premier sports franchises.

I dont know if i already posted here, but in my experience, NY, Boston, Philadelphia and Chicago are the most into their teams. Detroit too.

Most other places have too many transplants who arent so die hard to local teams.

Steve-O -

The stadiums are not HIDEOUS. You're just being ridiculous. - Whenever there's a Hate-On to be had for PHX, we can always count on you...
