Quebec City is truly amazing, with a ~550k population and only 1 homicide so far.
Meanwhile Oakland has 434k people and already 32 homicides...
Rochester - 14 (down from 24 in 2022, 21 in 2021)
Buffalo - 7 (down from 18 in 2022, 28 in 2021)
Although Buffalo CitiStat (official UCR data) hasn't been updated since February, only 2 homicides have been reported in the local news since that time. If this number holds, it will be the fewest January-April homicides since 2015, when 6 were reported in that timeframe.

Really nice to see Rochester’s crime wave recede a bit after two really brutal years

Wow, Charlottesville... what the hell is going on there? An 11 homicide rate would normally be bad for the entire year for that place, let alone 1/3 of the way through...
Roanoke has been pretty bad lately.... we are looking at finishing the year with a Richmond/DC level homicide rate.
