Buffalo is at 33, down from 47 a year ago. The also included the 10 victims of the supermarket shooting.

Buffalo Police Citistat has not been updated for May or later, so I am basing this on news reports plus posted April totals.

I believe Gary was the murder capital in 2003, but the average annual murder rate in D.C. from 1988-1997 (70.8 per 100k) was probably the highest ever for a large city over a 10 year span.

Gary Indiana has had 8 homicides in the past month and a half or so… pretty bad when you consider the city has a population less than 75,000.

Six homicides Friday, and four of those were under the age of 20, including two babies. A 4 year old girl died from inflicted of child abuse in the Chatham neighborhood. Also, a 5 month old girl in the South Shore neighborhood was fatally shot in the head while in a car when another car pulled up and someone started shooting.

Bolingbrook, IL -1

1 killed and two others wounded in a shooting that place inside WeatherTech Warehouse in southwest suburban Bolingbrook. Word is not given for the shooting but the suspect has fled the building is on the run.

On paper, it's actually estimated at around 68,300. But it's lower than that in reality. So you can at the very least say that Gary, Indiana's population is no more than 68,000 and likely 67,000 range in reality.
