How would you rank the cities with the best high end shopping? My take.
1. NYC - No question here. They're home to the flagship of just about all big brands.
2. LA - Second only to NYC. Destinations like Beverly Hills and South Coast Plaza.
3. Miami
4. Vegas - These two are obvious after NYC and LA.
5. Chicago - Has been quiet as of late in attracting new brands, but it's history makes it just round the top 5
6-8 - Houston, Dallas, San Francisco - Close call between there, can make the case for either. All have destinations and carry most of the boutiques you'll find. Houston and Dallas aren't particularly known for being shopping destinations, but both are severely underrated shopping cities with most of the boutiques you'll find there.
9-11. Boston, Philadelphia, Atlanta - One would think of Boston being higher here, but they lack so many brands as compared all the cities listed above. My theory is being so close to NYC, and the shopping capital of the world. Still, enough going to be top 10.
Honorable mention: Aspen. For a small town that relies fully on tourism, their high end shopping scene has a lot to say.
Note: These are shopping cities, not fashion impact. The terms seem to be confused often. Atlanta would be much higher here, were that what was being ranked.
The quality of the experience in shopping matters. I wouldn’t say Boston lacks many brands except for the top top brands stand alone store. Not many thing you can’t find in Boston. Boston may not have a Prada store but you can find it in Saks. And the pedestrian experience is second only to NYC. Clean, upscale and conceits to high end hotels, the public garden and theatre district.
Rolex is opening their largest North American showroom in Boston next month, to do that despite NYC being 4hours away is impressive https://luxurylaunches.com/watches/t...-in-boston.php. Also Boston has nice suburban malls as well.

I do not believe Seattle has a Saks or Nieman Marcus. So Seattle is pretty low on the list.
1) NYC
2) LA
3) CHI
4) BOS
5) PHL
6) SF
7) MIA
8) ATL
It all kinds of falls off from here. The King of Prussia Mall is one of the largest and highest grossing malls in the nation and has, Nieman, Bloomies, Nordstrom and soon to be Saks 5th Avenue relocating from Philadelphia proper.
City of Philadelphia shopping is abysmal, especially for a city of its size. Metro is right where it should be with its retail offerings, in line with other major metros.
As far as true downtown (walk-able) shopping districts with the best and most offerings...
1. New York (by far)
2. Chicago
3. LA
4/5. Boston or San Francisco
6. Miami
7. Vegas
8. DC
Houston, Dallas, Atlanta don't offer as much walk-ability, and I may be wrong, but I believe they fall in line with Philadelphia where the best and most high-end options are largely in the burbs not the "city" or at least "downtown"?

(I don't know much on Honolulu to comment).
Just to be clear, the best and most high-end shopping in Houston, Dallas and Atlanta is in the city proper, even if they're in suburban settings.

Seattle does have a Neiman Marcus in its suburbs (Bellevue). What it doesn't have is a Bloomingdales.
Dallas is the only other major metro that lacks a Bloomies *AND* a Saks. But it kind of has an unique Publix-effect going on, in that the brand loyalty for Neimans is so strong with local residents (for an obvious reason) that Saks and Bloomies have struggled to compete with it.
That said, Dallas makes up for the aforementioned handicap by having 4 or 5 Neiman Marcus stores throughout the Metroplex, overall nicer shopping malls and having more high-end boutiques than most metros.
Got it. Then I guess Philadelphia is the outlier with the best (and most) shopping in the suburbs and not the city.
I will say though, Dallas does at least have the flagship Neiman Marcus store downtown. Houston and Atlanta don't really have anything comparable.
