City limits are almost meaningless. Also, Audio has close to a million people.
Meaningless? How so? If a metropolitan area is comprised of various cities, townships, boroughs, etc; then they would mostly have different policing agencies, mayor's, and city councils.
How can separate towns extending anywhere from 10 - 50 miles apart from the main artery be included in it's crime stats?
A man shot to death early this morning. 26th homicide for Omaha in 2020.
Plus, Omaha recorded more shootings in the month of July 2020, than any month in more than 10 years- police blame the increase on an uptick in gang feuds and the pandemic.
In my mind, at first I interpreted this as happening on the weekend because I'm accustomed to the Chicago narrative.
Still bad. Apparently, some scared NYers are buying vests because of this surge, according to one related article. It goes to show how long it's been since the last time NYC was thought of as a dangerous city.
I am speechless. NYC felt safe and now this isn't believable.
This is such an exaggeration... New York was safe and still is safe.
The uptick in shootings and murders is unfortunate (happening in every city), but do some people really think its no longer safe to walk around New York City? By that logic, every city should be avoided.
