I would say Boston and Philly are 1 and 2... surprised D.C. and Chicago are up there.

DFW should be replaced with Houston IMO. Rice,The U of H System which has 4 campuses, TSU, HBU, St. Thomas not to mention Texas Medical Center has medical and nursing schools within its campus and the city has 3 law schools. That's not even including the CC sytems: HCC, Lone State (estimated to have around 90,000 Students) and San Jacinto and the trade schools throughout the area. You can go to school to be anything you want in Houston, cant really say that about most southern cities.

Nothing personal. I just see Philly and Boston as huge college cities. Don't really think of a huge college presence when I think of D.C. or Chicago.

You could say the same for LA and NYC then too. I don't think Chicago or DC are college towns by any means, but the college prescience in Chicago and DC is on par with Philly, NYC and LA.

I'd hate to vote against DFW, but it's Boston... by a mile.
