What's the point of this thread? Is there some sort of agenda?
Like Spade said is the exception or the rule? Especially the main streets I have found most cities do not have parking on them, when I was in Miami I remember many people would park their cars on their lawns, what gives? I am even tempted to ask how many people in the south even know how to parallel park? Parallel parking is almost unheard of atleast in Dallas, for the exception of downtown and the immediate surroundings but what city doesn't have street parking downtown? Having lived in different cities this is one of the many differences I have seen between the south and other regions.

I don't consider D.C. to be southern. Nor Baltimore. Culturally, both are firmly entrenched in the Bos-Wash. Having relatives there myself, D.C. feels and acts nothing like the south to me.
