I read somewhere that E. St. Louis can't possibly turn itself around. Mostly because the ground and water is so polluted from industry that it's hazardous to live there anymore without completely demolishing and starting over from scratch. The people who do live there can't easily leave if they can't sell their home, and the economy is terrible, obviously.
What a joke. That video only showcases the bad areas of the city. There are bad parts of EVERY city. Back on topic though, Camden (at least right now, it could change) probably has the worst ghettos in the country. That or St. Louis. Watch this video. Literally NOTHING in sight...
Detroit is a sad mess. Half the city is abandoned with broken down houses and drunk or stoned gang bangers drive around shooting at the abandoned houses. It's a very dirty sad place. It surprises me no one posted this.

The city of St. Louis in Missouri has been revitalizing the city in recent years. There are a lot of beautiful areas to live in now and the city has posted population gains for the first time in decade. They are nothing like Detroit and their smaller neighbor across the river. They need to just change the name of East St. Louis, Illinois to Compton or something so people won't think of the city as actually a part of St. Louis.
