There's a Franklin in Maine, too.

There is also a Franklin, CT!

Along with Europe, several states have cities by this same name. They include, ID,IL,KY,ME,NC,NY,SD,TX,WI.
Anyone know that answer to my sons 6th grade brain teaser?

Someone mentioned a lack of creativity... They could have used some creativity in Oregon! Here are some important Oregon cities...

First permanent settlement on the West Coast: Astoria - OR, NY

Historically a major West Coast port: Newport - OR, RI, VT, PA, AR, NC, MN, NH, NY

State capital and 3rd largest city: Salem - OR, MA, OH, IL, KY

Biggest city and a regional center: Portland - OR, ME

9th largest city and major suburb of Eugene: Springfield - OR, IL, MO, TN

8th largest city and 5th largest non-suburban city and regional center for NorCal and SoOr: Medford - OR, MA

Question Tool to find the occurance of a same city in Multiple states

Can somebody help me out for this??
I want a tool or a website which would tell me whether a particular city appears in multiple states or not. And if it appears in multiple state, it should give me the state name too.

If I try Google maps, it shows me any state randomly. It not always give me the list of all states in which that particular city appears..

There's a Dayton is almost every state - I know there's one in MI, OH, IN, TN, KY, CA, TX, MN and many other states I'm sure

Same for Athens - one in MI, IN, OH, GA, TN, and Greece
