I am praying that Jesus will reveal Himself to me before this happens. If not, I will take as many stripes as needed, but the Glory of those are His. I am prepared to live for a spell, outside the grid, but I don't see that as mattering too much if things get too bad.
Of course I don't believe a lot of what the evangelical community calls the "end-times", but instead think that the events that happen to us all, happen in our OWN "end-time". Revelation to me is but a map between the carnal, and the Spiritual, and the Spirit is supposed and promised to be our Guide.
So, yea. I suppose that if the mindset of the religious community is to "speed" along the events from a carnal nature, bring it on. We can see this easily just by reading a newspaper, or watching the news. But if there was any doubts, just turn on the end-time evangelicals selling their propaganda for a days wages.
Well I think you know I believe in plan A, the Rapture of the church. But whether you believe in the Rapture prior to the tribulation, in the middle or at the end, the fact that it's going to happen should encourage our heart as we look to the future with hope.
I believe in the rapture too. I think there's enough scriptural evidence to support it. Even so, I think it might be a good idea to prepare because there are so many questionable things happening right now. By preparing I mean having the necessary things for basic survival, like a well stocked pantry, lots of bottle water, matches, extra medicines, etc. And a survival guide wouldn't hurt either.
The rapture is a load of bunk in my opinion. It has no scriptural basis and wasn't even a popular notion until the 19th century.
I agree. I don't get how something so important would not have been revealed until recently. I believe it's another man-man creation. As far as I understand it, Jesus comes back with trumpets blowing and everyone will know it when it happens. Doesn't the Bible teach of a second coming, not a second and third?
Personally, some of the Protestant denominations spend way too much time in this area. If you stay the course and don't stray and stay true to the teachings of Jesus, you will be fine whenever and however Jesus comes. I hate to use the sports team analogy, but if you do all the little things well, winning will take care of itself.

Very well said.
The Left Behind series has not helped matters. And the thought of pilots of airplanes/drivers of buses/etc just suddenly vanishing into thin air is very entertaining, but it's just that - entertainment.
It amazes me how much fluff is out there within Christian churches. It is much simpler than we make it out to be. The "forest for the trees" analogy resonates loudly when discussing the Bible.

Okay, so the OP has already dismissed the Rapture in its question. So if we think this is the season for the time of what people say could be the Rapture and your one that does not subscribe to the message.
Revelation (of Jesus Christ) has been turned into theatre by those looking for signs and wonders, but how many are willing to buy of Him gold - tried in the fire?
Quote:
An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:
For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. (Mat 12:39-40)
The seed of Christ has been deposited in the earth (you and I), and our desire should be for Him to be glorified in the earth, rather than looking for carnal equations to a spiritual puzzle. He will have His body to represent Him.
Pray that He does in us all that we require (Ruth 3:11).

What are you thinking or doing about it.
godspeed,
freedom
