I'm wondering how many people on the forum share the Lord's Supper every Sunday. If you do, why? If you don't, why not?

Is this another 'work' you must perform in order to earn salvation?

When I started the thread, I wasn't thinking about salvation. But your question made me remember the following scripture.

Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. [John 6:53-54]

I think we would both agree that sharing the Lord's Supper results in eternal life.

Yes? No?

Katie

The Lord's Supper is offered at one of two services every week at my church.

God commanded us to be perfect too, but I don't think any of us will obtain that this side of heaven.

More than anything God wants a relationship with His children.

Absolutely not. You have no idea what the verse says. Do you really think you can save yourself with rituals like that?

I do. For me, it's the means by which I renew the covenants I made with Jesus Christ when I was baptized. In taking the Lord's Supper, my focus is on Him and what He sacrificed for me. It's a time to reflect on that and on my responsibility to always remember Him and keep His commandments. When I do that, I know that He has promised that I will always have His spirit to be with me.

Is it really a supper? I heard it was just a little wine and a cracker.
But I understand that if its just to remind you of something that might do.

Cheers,
Aeroman

PS, Are there any churches that actually sit down to a supper?
