I am looking for a place to get some new glasses. I have been to a few stores but the selection was minimal. Has anyone been to a place that has a large selection, hopefully in or around the loop. I guess I am looking for something a little trendy/funky. Thanks

I'm in the same situation as you Adam. I'm on my last pair of contacts that I've been wearing for a month and a half(2 week kind.) Also in the market for glasses. I'm sick of going to Lenscrafters, need something better this time. So what is the best and largest optical store?

You may want to check out the Yelp and Google Reviews. I see some really highly rated stores with lots of reviews.

This isn't downtown, but I really like Red Eye on Damen in Bucktown. The doctor there is really good too.

I second Red Eye - Dr. Matt is a good guy, and they have a wide selection.
Also check out Urban Eyecare on Milwaukee near the crotch of Wicker Park. The doctors and selection are both good.

I really like Level Optical at 70 E Lake Street. They have good service, and are fast. It's very easy to pop in there during the work day.
