So you've had human urine in your mouth before?
And you find it nasty ONLY because it is that of a Crackhead's?

I'm starting to think you've never lived in a city before... ****, I can't think of any town larger than 200,000 people that doesn't have homeless people urinating on sidewalks.

I dont doubt that Houston has homeless people peeing freely but I myself have never encountered a **** puddle. I guess I'm not cultured. Oh well.

Well, no problem, but we probably need a little feedback on how the actual, credible responses written so far strike you.

Have you visited these areas? You do plan to prior to signing a lease, do you not?

Yes I have visited the areas a couple of times. I moved about a year ago to Lake Bluff IL for work and can't stand it anymore! I have seen where the action is in Wicker Park but not really in Ravenswood. And just driving around the area, it's hard to know for sure. I'm afraid of moving there and being separated from things...(walking distance)... like I am now.

Ravenswood seems to be located in a better spot for me, but I am an art lover and have heard Wicker Park is great for that.

Okay, that gives us a little more to work with.

You're not far, so I'd encourage you to take a little time and visit the specific parts of the neighborhoods you'd be interested in finding a place. Wicker Park is great, if that's what you're into, but if you're living at, say, North and Milwaukee, in the heart of the action, you're a good mile from the Clybourn station. It'll take a good bit of digging around the area to find the right balance.

In Ravenswood, you can find a place in the neighborhoods along, say, Damen and do okay, but it's spotty. The area I live in around there is great. Some areas are a little more boring. None of it is suburban feeling, though. Not around there. Ravenswood is homier and more family-friendly than WP, but still far from suburbia. I'd say go both places, start at the Metra stations and work outward. I'd say the nicer housing is west of both stops. East of the Ravenswood stop you get toward Uptown, which is fine for the most part, but sketchier.

East of Clybourn is old industrial space.

Your best best for Wicker Park is to live as close to Ashland or Armitage as possible. Then you'll have an easy walk to both the Metra and the heart of Wicker Park. Here's a couple of options: Sunny newly remodeled 4 rooms in Wicker Park near El (http://chicago.craigslist.org/chc/apa/1121770810.html - broken link)
Lofty layout in Bucktown (http://chicago.craigslist.org/chc/apa/1121648457.html - broken link)
