That makes sense. I would still file a complaint however.

Someone suggested that she may be violating the terms of her own building agreement by renting it out on an ongoing short term basis. Her explanation was that it was due to the high security of the building. I don't buy it though. I kind of think she just didn't want to rent it for that length of time to someone with kids. She specifically mentioned that no other kids were allowed in.

That in many cases is illegal.

This might explain a lot of why she behaved so weird. If the rents out her unit even though shes not supposed she might be a bit paranoid about her tenants being a slow-key as possible. Probably she was concerned that kids and frequent visitors might attract some attention a single suit would not.
Of course that's no excuse, if she does not want to get into trouble she simply shouldn't rent out her place.

I go to the one in Uptown more often as it is way closer to me than the one that you mentioned that is almost in Lincoln Park.
That's a hell of a walk. I hate walking that stretch of Broadway. It's running the gauntlet of bums, thugs, and prostitutes.

I usually do not walk. I take the Broadway bus or I take the Red Line to Wilson and walk the rest.
