If I would like to take the brown line counterclockwise (coming from Lakeview), how will I know which brown line train to take??

I know that when you take the red line, getting on the red line train marked 95/Dan Ryan means you're going southbound and getting on the train marked Howard means you're going northbound. But what about the brown line? Is it marked differently?

Take the one that goes in the same direction as the Red Line to 95th to go south or the one that is one the same side as the Red Line that goes to Howard to go North.

The Brown Line says Kimball when going North. I believe it says Loop when going South.

What part of Lake View did you end up getting a place?

Thanks, Avengerfire, that confuses me sometimes. I ended up on Clark Street near Diversey in Lakeview.

Off topic but just what was wrong with calling the Els the "Lake St" "Howard", "Congress", "Douglas Park" and such? That told you right where the thing went. Who was the knothead who thought it was a good idea to go with this Orange, Red, blah, blah, blah?

And better and better with time. I feel like my first year was really just about learning the ropes. 4 years in, I'm still finding new stuff all the time.

Can I hijack this thread for a second instead of starting a new one? Great, I had an issue last night with getting on the El in the Loop. I used my 30 day pass at the elevated stations and it wouldn't let me through but when at Bryn Mawr, Berwyn, Fullerton etc. etc. I had no issue. What is going on here? Are the regular 30 day passes not accepted on the elevated tracks or something?
