And such signs come up in your conversation?

I don't know, it can get kind of hairy. I get Orange Lines to the Loop, Midway AND Ford City going past my house all the time. I don't know how they wind up in Edgewater.

Irishtom, we could have a whole bunch of letters and numbers like NYC.

Because there is a rail yard near Howard.

I always thought the trains were pretty simple. "Brown Line to Kimball". "Red Line to Howard".

There are 18 signs on every 8 car train that says where they're going. The colors make it easier on a map to see where the lines are in relation to each other and where they're going.

The Orange, Purple, Pink and Brown are really simple cause they all end in "Loop" which people know means they all go downtown. All you have to know is if it doesn't say "Loop" means it's going back to it's start point.

The red line is either Howard or 95th. Since the streets are all on the southside, you know if it's going to 95th/Dan Ryan, it's heading south.

You'll catch on really quick, it works pretty well.

I know that. I don't think that's why Red Lines are going north saying they're going to Ford City though. Simple operator error.
