Where on Sunnyside? I have a friend who moved in there 2 months ago in Uptown on Sunnyside and hasn't reported anything bad like that to me. Was it one of these?

Police: Man shot to death after West Englewood party - chicagotribune.com
Shootings across city kill 2, injure 7 - chicagotribune.com

Those are the only two I could find for 67th street going back until last May.

It was east of Broadway. 4 months ago. I think.

Even with self defense classification instead of homicide with the city of Chicago I don't think the stats are right.

I can remember a few months before I left Chicago the news reported a murder happened on 67th when it actually happened on sunny side. There is some messy stuff with the numbers.
No offense, but that sounds like a load of ****.

The only reported homicides on 67th Street going back a year happened in mid March and December of 2013. I recall a shooting a few months ago just east of Broadway around there, but nobody was killed.

You can write what you want. You can hear what you want. Don't expect people to believe the numbers you are posting when they know better.

I don't blame you. You're just quoting what you know. I personally know better.

I think mjtinmemphis is thinking of the mookburger who shot and killed a shopkeeper on 63rd in Marquette Park and then a few hours later shot some guy in the head in the Dunkin' Donuts parking lot. The latter victim was in a coma for a while but he actually pulled out of it and is recovering. The guy isn't a murder statistic by sheer luck and/or willpower.

Sounds like this one:
Chicago Lawn Shooting Kills Convenience Store Clerk, Police Say - Chicago Lawn - DNAinfo.com Chicago

I remember when that one happened. Good to know the guy in Uptown pulled out of it. Sucks for the guy in West Lawn, though.

what I was writing about was not a homicide it was just a shooting. Sorry.

The incident on sunny side was not a homicide either.

I guess I need to be better informed. Lol.

Yes, and it was probably reported. I've seen two shootings around the same area in Uptown be reported last month or a few months ago.
