Its in St. Charles, right West of downtown on Rt. 64 (North Ave). There are lots of restored old homes in that part of town. Same goes for Geneva.

Patently absurd.
I dont think they are absurd at all. I have four kids and a dog, Saint Bernard, all love the winter!!!!!!! We HATED the 95% humidity and nasty heat to go with it. Cant sleep when you are all sweaty!!! 25 degrees, turn on the heater or light the fireplace!! Humidity, good luck with that, A/C inside or sweaty mess outside. If you dont like the weather there, quit complaining and move to Florida. Enjoy that!!!!!!!

What would you rather have, some cold 4-6 months out of the year with pleasant variation throught the rest of the year, or tropic, humid, heat 9 months out of the year? The beautiful FL weather everyone talks about is only nice when the rest of the country is in deep freeze and it happens to be only in the 70's in the wintertime in FL, other than that, you sweat your a-- off amidst hot and bothered people in the sunshine state. Take it from experience...which is why I'm moving back in a couple years.

After growing up in the Chicago area and surviving brutal winters and endless "blah" days, and then living in FL for several years...I'd take the 9 months of heat ANYDAY!!!I'm in the middle of swamp land in July right now, and this in no way compares to northern IL in January...of the two extremes, this is much more tolerable. At least to me.

...to sleep on a cold winter's night than on a hot, steamy evening with no breeze, and a power outage to boot..

All you have to do is turn the heat up, put on a sweater ( if really necessary), use an (extra) blanket, etc., and you'll have a comfortable night.Young children AND dogs will sleep much better, too.

If you don't care for your current weather, then move, and keep your nonsense to yourself.
