That demonstrates that Chicago is a global city, but being a GC doesn't make a city world class.

Harrier believes that there are only 5 world class cities in the United States: New York, Washington, Los Angeles, Miami, and Las Vegas.

Another good reason not to move to Chicago.

Bunch of scumbags. Wish there was more people there to witness this so they could take care of these idiots before calling the police.
On Michigan Ave, at that time of day? Guaranteed there were probably dozens of witnesses to the incident who (unlike the brave teen girl) stood by and did nothing. That is sad indeed.

MassVt doesn't care about what Harrier thinks on any subject.

But he knows all about Chicago! He's read about it on the internets!

Places that are dependent on tourism such as Cuba...are very strict when it comes to protecting the tourist trade. If a Cuban robs a tourist and effects the economy in a negative manner by such an act- They give the creep 20 years in the slammer or worse. How do you explain to these dense young people that this short term gain of a toy...leads to more prolonged poverty?

When it becomes a necessity to be "street wise" to survive in a city- you know that city is on the decline. As a city evolves and becomes more civil and more civilized the need for street wisdom should lessen. A city should become more safe as time goes on - not less safe. It's either the road to peace and prosperity or the dirt path to misery. It's a case of direction. The problem with liberal progressives is that they actually believe that one direction is as good as the other...that "it is all good" - when it is NOT.

And today you are an idiot. You can be one of the robbers. You are peeking out of the closet and we see you.

Every major city has crime issues and leaving your phone or wallet clearly exposed in your back pocket in any crowded environment is just plain stupid. We travel all over downtown Chicago with our kids and have not had any issues so I'm not sure what all the fuss is about.

Maybe the Chicago Ghost Tours should add a segment for the mystery mobs that appear and wreak havoc in the scary streets of downtown Chicago?
