I totally agree here. I don't consider myself a wussy and might even consider myself semi-tough, but I'm really going to seriously weigh the cons of stepping into the middle of an altercation between two people I don't know. Not worth taking a bad beating or worst simply because you were trying to do, what in your mind, was the right thing.

I have stepped in between a bum and a woman he was chasing after but that's because I was 96% confident I had the upper hand were it to turn physical.

It still amazes me when people can't seem to comprehend the most simple of things. I'll try to simplfy it further for you. Every city in this country with a large, poor, American-born black population has a high murder rate. Almost all of them live in the ghetto. Does that mean that everyone that lives in the ghetto is a murderer? Of course not. I thought that was obvious enough not to have it spelled out. And, yes, I live in the hood. I don't make the big bucks like you probably do.

This may be true but at the end of the day there's no such thing as fairness in this world. There's no right and wrong. There's only action and consequence.

How else do you explain how an island the size of Indiana, while under military occupation (not to mentioned being literally starved to death), managed to conquer an American metropolitan area an ocean + half-continent away!

And the people here hate us so much they keep re-electing people with Irish names, even though it's not Irish people doing the electing, as the Irish have at best been 20% of the City's population back in the mid-1800s, and were massively outnumbered by the other white ethnic groups such as the Germans.

I think Chicagoans just love, love, love having the Irish as their scapegoat. Beats looking in the mirror and taking ownership for the issues in your own community.

I don't think most Chicagoans in 2013 think about the Irish outside of St. Patrick's Day celebrations each year.
