Well, obviously the city has more and generally speaking, better. But not some kind of monopoly or anything close to it..

Well, the lead singer has jokingly called it "Sex Metal" but it's not really death metal and they haven't really categorized it..

I think this is the point a lot of people have been trying to make all along. Of course there are more options in the city than the suburbs. But, not everyone requires or even cares about a lot of variety. I'm generally considered a fun person (believe it or not), but I don't need to go to a different bar or restaurant every night. Once I find something I like I tend to stick with it anyway, so the variety was wasted on me.

Not every suburb is a sea of spread out subdivisions that require you to drive to anything. I know because I hardly drive and I live in the suburbs. I've lived in the city too. A person can prefer the suburbs without being a boring and uncultured moron.

lol not what I think of when I hear the term 'sex metal' at all. It sounds like Nu Metal mixed with half death metal growls.

Oh but they do. Bad Company, Moody Blues, Jay Leno, Gladys Knight, The OJays, Cheech 'n' Chong...If Kid Rock and Nickelback haven't been there yet, it's only a matter of time.

I even confess to going there to see John Oliver. He was great, but never again will I go to a casino in Indiana for a comedy show.

Most of the independent music I find out about, I find out about on the internet. It has nothing to do with where I live. Although anytime a rapper is handing out mix tapes, I ALWAYS take one. They often suck but sometimes I'm impressed..

This was definitely true where I lived. It was all about people's kids' schools and activities, and sometimes church. I couldn't relate to any of it at all. Even if I were to have kids I would not want my social life to center on them.

Me too. And then I look up their tour schedules to see where they're playing in the area, and it's nearly always in the city. The same may or may not be true for the music you like. I was just sharing my experience.

If you look back, you'll see that the post I was responding to (and agreeing with) was one saying that "convenience" is subjective and largely dependent upon lifestyle. I don't mind at all that some people find the suburbs to be more convenient for the things they're into. I'm just not one of those people.
