I have family that still live in Hegweich though..

I don't know about the OP but I'd definitely move to Hegweich (or even the area north of there) before Mt Greenwood. Beverly is very nice though.
I know some people from Mount Greenwood.....uh. One guy in HS made me laugh when he said his neighborhood is full of nothing but large families with MANY children.

Yeah. Seconding the "Hegewisch > Mt. Greenwood" thing. I admit I havent gotten a real good look at Hegewisch.

For what it is worth, we are british-black. thank you again for your valuable input.
The UK is divided more upon class (British Class Structure) and ethnicity (Scots, Irish & Welsh vs English and Ulsters), correct? The US is more racialist and regionalist.....unlike the United Kingdom, the US never tried pulling "self-determination" to deal with its' racial problems (unless you're native american..or from Hawaii's mixed population)...so we won't have a semi-autonomous black government w/nationalist & independentist movements because god forbid, it would be "Racist" to discuss black issues :/

But as you said you're black from the UK, yeah. Mount Greenwood should be DOWNGRADED in your list. Did we mention Mount Greenwood is full of working-class Irish Catholics?

Schools would be much easier to deal with in Homewood or Flossmoor. Homes would be much more affordable than in Hyde Park which would be the other obvious choice for family in the situation described...

I'm glad you've gotten some ideas for good options! Be sure to come back and ask any follow-up questions as you have them!

Frankly for a racial discussion on this here forum I think folks have managed to stay quite fair.

And I still vote for Beverly FWIW
