A similar situation: Devon, from Western to California.

A similar situation: most of Chicago.

But want to know what really grinds my gears? Chicago drivers who are too stupid to understand what the recently more prevalent "stop for pedestrians in crosswalk" signs are for. Either they are completely ignored by drivers or the moronic drivers think that they are stop signs irrespective of the presence of pedestrians. I've had numerous people pull out in front of me in intersections thinking it was "their turn" at a make-believe 4-way-stop intersection.

Use Foster if you can, not nearly as congested, though I think there's a detour near Northeastern University at the moment.

It's a viable option right now due to Foster getting sewer work done and being all slow. Otherwise, it's mostly residential, stop and go streets. I only ever used it as a last ditch effort.

Yet another reason to link the Brown Line to the Blue Line as a subway under Lawrence.

I'm using Bryn Mawr instead of Foster. Last Sunday night we went down Lawrence and it was horrible. Took us over 20 minutes to get from Kedzie to Elston at 11pm. I try to avoid that stretch of Lawrence in general, but was surprised at how bad it was that late on a Sunday.
