Would you consider buying an apartment on a relatively noisy street (North Ave) if the layout, price, other aspects of the location, and basically every other aspect of the apartment were perfect...? (P.S. The bedrooms, etc. are all at the back and super quiet. It's just the living room that looks out on North Ave.) We are professionals in our 30s moving to Bucktown / Wicker Park.

If you mean the unit is at 2800 W. North ave, you're not in Wicker Park or Bucktown, you're in Humboldt Park.

That's not Bucktown, but Humboldt Park. While the neighborhood's not as bad as it used to be, it's still quite sketchy.

Did you see this place in person or just saw an ad with pics on the internet?

As said by the others, that address puts you in Humboldt Park, not Bucktown.

I don't know how this would be listed as Bucktown when the park itself is seriously right on that corner.

I understand the real estate ploys, I'm talking about from the OP's perspective. They obviously went and checked the place out, and even if they didn't, if you look at a map it's also obvious.

If one is not from Chicago one probably would not ever know that Humboldt Park is a neighborhood and community area, as well as a park.

I am willing to bet these people have not been in Chicago long or have never lived here.

That is why a forum like this is important for people looking to relocate. We can cut through the agent's and landlord's lies.

Which is one reason why some people hate me so much. I have no monetary interest when I give advice in this forum.
