I just read it was in South Shore, on 71st and Payne. Or am I confusing my quadruple shootings.

If I were a thug I would avoid exacting my revenge on anyone within the U of C police district. I notice that for crimes near the U of C the perpetrator *always* gets caught. There is no limit to the resources spent on the investigation, even if it is one thug killing another (violent crime of any sort just doesn't look good).

Historically (before you were born) many gangs were very well organized, rational social entities. The modern ghetto version seems less so, at least on the surface.

I just read the story. It is incredibly messed up. I bring the kids to 71st and Jeffrey a few times a month. Never thought much of it. I'm seriously considering avoiding it at this point. After showing signs of life in recent years that neighborhood again is headed in the wrong direction.
