Is there a way to estimate what one's property tax would be before building in Woodlawn?

Are their certain features that trigger higher or lower tax, such as garage or lack thereof, number of bathrooms, expensive inside finishings, floorings, number of rooms or is it total size of building, or size of the land?

Thank you in advance for your insight based on experience or pointers to links that seem to be accurate.

The taxes are supposed to be based upon a formula that goes off of 'fair market value" as set by comparable recent sales.

Genereally anything that makes a home sell for more has the potential to also raise its taxes.

I'd get addresses for some similarly appointed houses in the area and look them up on the county website.

Property Tax Portal - PIN Search

Click the "search by property address button."

You'll find they go up if you do renovations, you'll find they go up if you don't do renovations. All the local governments have a voracious appetite for property tax dollars.

If you're just remodeling not likely. You do extensive stuff like room or floor additions, very likely.
