Try looking at Elmhurst, Hinsdale, Glen Ellyn, Wheaton, Naperville, Geneva and St. Charles(most like Charlotte).

The towns you have chosen Toosh are excellent.I would also add Elmhurst,great town and schools,but I think it would be a bit further.As Steve mentioned W'ville and Plainfield are more affordable towns,and they are close by,I dont really know about the school districts in those two towns . I doubt you could find anything for 350 in Hinsdale,but in this market the other burbs (St Charles,Glen Elly,Geneva etc)are worth checking out. (And Having been to Charlote<I disagree that St Charles is ANYTHING like Charlotte).Good luck to you,,do come visit,see a home in your range in the burbs you like.That will determine it as they are all very good schools. Thanks to all those that made a suggestion and gave insight to surrounding Naperville areas. We will be flying out in November to start looking.

Talking West is the Best

I grew up in Western Springs. I loved it there. Try Riverside, LaGrange, Elmhurst, or even Oak Park. Depends on your budget, but any of these you can feel good about. Naperville is too congested with too many want to be snobs. Bring it back closer to the city and your husband will thank you for cutting his commute in half!! Lyons Township High School is excellent. Don't fall into the Naperville trap!!

I would look into Plainfield. Its a very nice area that is growing tremendously. Nice place to raise a family, close to Naperville, decent schools, and your $350K housing dollars will go much further in Plainfield than a lot of other suburbs.

If I could live anywhere (after living all over the place) I would choose Elk Grove Village. I grew up there and after getting older and living in many other places. I wish I could afford to live there now. There is NO better town in my eyes! Best schools, best houses, best shopping, best park district, etc. EXCELLENT town to raise your kids!! Too bad I'm stuck in Oak Lawn and prices won't go up. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrr
