Mike -- we have this great lil sushi place It's called Yue Sun Steak and Sushi ... something like that.

you could hit it in the way to Elmhurst... since it's not near Midway or Algonquin. it's on the Itasca / Wood Dale border. DH has eaten sushi all over the county, and loves this place. I dont eat raw fish, so i can't comment. Its not cheap though [1.85 a plate]. and goofy hours.... Lunch = 11-1.30 and 5pm til..... 9pm i think.

Certainly no lack of good eats in the Burbs of Chicago.

Actually there's a very good sushi place in Lake In The Hills, which borders Algonquin. It's called Bistro Wasabi and the address is 4590 W. Algonquin Road.

Si senor. I ate there last winter, its ok. The Woodfield Mall area is slathered with TONS of great restaurants... you can find anything from Maggiano's to Rainforest Cafe to Portillos to Bahama Breeze to Chinese/Japanese/Middle Eastern/African/Mexican/etc/etc.

I also love sushi. These are good and close to the B & B:

- Sagano Japanese in Barrington is excellent and not far from the B & B (take Lake Cook Rd. to Hough Street). Near a historic movie house (The Catlow) and walkable to some boutique shops.

- Bistro Wasabi in Lake in the Hills (Rt 62) and also Crystal Lake (Northwest Hwy). Good Sushi but both restaurants are in boring strip malls and you have to deal with lots of traffic to get there.

- Port Edwards in Algonquin has an excellent weekend Sushi bar (call to check times). Better yet, Port Edwards is right next door to your B & B. You could walk there. There is usually some live music and it has a nice view of the Fox River.

Have Fun!
